Wooden Plant Potters
Overview
I created 4 identical wooden (maple and beech) plant potters where 2 were given as gifts, 1 was kept for myself, and 1 was sold at the Contemporary Crafts auction in Pittsburgh.
Through this journey, it occurred to me that as a designer, I am able to put my own input into the products around me. There always seemed to be this invisible barrier between commercial objects and an individuals input, however, in this field, I realized I am able to break this. I have control over the objects around me where I know how to repair items, how to make objects that I can use or gift to others. This subtly changed my relationship to design.
